What is Shift for Health?
Shift for Health is the theme for VCU Medical Center’s exclusive medical sponsorship of Richmond 2015 UCI Road World Championships. Our participation in this important international event is a clear reflection of the world-class health care that we provide.
Shift for Health will carry on long after the race is over by encouraging team members, their families and members of our community to make small shifts in their exercise, diet and lifestyle habits that will add up to big differences in their health and well-being.
How can you get involved?
Check out the Shift Champions—your colleagues who have made small shifts to improve their health—and inspired others along the way.
Make a Shift.
Choose one small change you can make to put you on the road to better health and wellness. Here are some examples:
- Walk it off. Start with 1,000 steps a day and build up to 100,000.
- Hit the bottle. Water, that is. Replace one sugary drink a day with water.
- Snack attack. Prepare healthy snacks—like fruits, nuts and veggies— and keep them close at hand.
- Stress break. Take five minutes each day to relax, unwind or meditate.
Share your Shift
Join the Shift for Health movement and share what you’re doing to lead a healthier life on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook by using #Shift4Health. After you’ve shared your shift, invite fellow team members, friends and family to share their #Shift4Health.
